The first step in the process, we evaluate your child across a series of cognitive, adaptive, communicative, and other domains to understand what learning topics would benefit them most.
We want to build a real relationship and trust first so your child is comfortable and ready to learn. We engage in child led play how they like to play, whether that is play doh, jumping and twirling, holding objects up to light. We learn what your child loves and join them in it to build a relationship of trust and respect.
Pivotal response teaching focuses on the most important skills for your child within a play therapy or other fun context. Examples of pivotal skills include learning to speak or read, as well as motivation, responsivity to multiple cues, and social initiations

Verbal Behavior approaches language and communication by its function.
We focus first on words (like bubbles in the picture) that will give them access to things they want to motivate language production.

Natural environment teaching (NET) brings learning into your child's natural environment and incorporates their interests into teaching. This technique looks a lot like playing!
So for example, if your child loves legos, we can teach imitation, motor skills, counting, colors and shapes, and more through lego play.

This prioritizes your child's comfort while also ensuring that real learning takes place - when we are uncomfortable, it is hard to learn.
